Making twins out of the queen is easy on the SP.
easier than on any other bird,i think.

Hi James,

ABBird recently bought a 91 SP from Rick & Randy which is a twin bed coach, look in the sold section of Buy Bye Blue Bird here: https://www.buybyebluebird.com/Coach...RiSh152019SP36.

I bet he could take a bunch of photos of how the platforms are set up in there. The access to the top of the CAT is below the bed as well as some water plumbing, so some, but not all, of what is there needs to be taken into consideration.

It would entail changing the end tables, carpet and modifying platforms to create the twin bed layout, but I think you could do it with a lot of the existing materials and not a great deal of effort if you are handy. There are some useful drawers below the bed facing forwards which could be relocated to the foot of each bed opening outwards.

Give me a few days (I still work ;-) , and I will take some pics and provide some measurements that may help anyone that is thinking about converting to twin beds. Keep in mind that size of the bedroom “cavity” will vary among coaches since the bathroom/bedroom layout varied. Any modification will be “custom”.

That being said, the real issue is the “hump” to accommodate the engine. The pics in the “sold section” give you a good idea of how they handled that in the twin bed configuration. Of course, cutting a hole in the back for the rear window is another thing

James,
I almost converted the queen bed on my previous ‘89 SP to a twin config, before I just bought one with a factory-installed twin. I really like the rear window thing... But, don’t wait for a factory-installed twin/rear window to become available — my info is that they only made about 5 of those... I determined that it would be pretty easy to convert over, but I have a lot of carpentry skills, so it wasn’t intimidating... I wish I had the same level of mechanics skills

Thanks Dave!

James requested a walking tour, so I'll share it here as well. It should be fun for anyone interested in an SP.

If you post it on Randy's site and direct traffic to the advert there you will appear to be a seller who does not look like he tries to circumvent policy, rules ,maintenance and upkeep. The donation line is a nice touch, i got a good laugh

Greg, your consistent attacks on those who you say "circumvent policy" make you look foolish IMHO

Randy approved my listing personally.

Please cease and desist in your attempts to defame me and others who are in total compliance and who are furthermore benefactors to the WOG community, clients of Randy's and so on.

Further, I would appreciate it if an admin would delete your defamatory post from this thread and prevent you from continuing to post this nonsense.

Greg, Chip's ad does conform to the rules for listing a coach for sale by WOG Members. You need to read the rules.

You can read them here:
