CLASSIC WELL CARED FOR BLUEBIRD!! 1984 36' PT (with tag axle)We are the third owners (bought it in 2014 to coax aged mom into trips but she refuses) We have only driven it from where it was in Daytona Beach FL to where it now is near Walla Walla WA and into town and back to keep tires rolling. Come see it and taste wine here! On that trip we had a front blow-out and the bus was incredibly stable! Subsequently, we replaced all 8 tires and 2 air bag shocks, changed oil, filters, transmission service.
Previous owner bought it basically unused from first owner and they both took excellent care of it. He took it to watch the races at Daytona Beach and built a railed platform on the roof to put deck chairs for viewing the races. It's all diamond plate up there. Previous owner also did an interior update in 1994.
One of our favorite things about this bus is the Special Music Horn!! Played it everywhere we went and got waves and smiles from all ages. It plays 60 different songs and they all work perfectly. It is super loud and fun! See pics for complete song list.
The reason we are selling it is that we are not RV'ers and it isn't feasible to just keep it around for tiny trips to town with grandkids

Really like this one. It has that coffee maker you've been looking for, Randy.

This bird was posted to Craigslist in May or June and brought up here on the forum. I called and talked with the seller to invite them to the rally in Walla Walla. I had a very nice talk with the lady who was selling it. While they didn't, make it to the rally I would not hesitate too long on this bus. It looks like a very enticing price for a beautiful Wanderlodge.

I see they have lowered the price to $22,000. Surprised it hasn't sold already.

I am interested in it and called and talked with them.

Will do a walk thru with them over the phone Sunday.

But as it is right now it seems to have a lot of problems.

After buying it in Fl they had a blow out on the way home doing almost 75mph so it has some scratches , and one of the jacks is broke.

He talked about it leaking a lot of oil all the time not just using it but leaking it a lot on the ground.
What might that be?

Only one AC

Has 270k miles on it

After the tire blow out he had to put on some new air bags up front but the backs are still original.

Says the front wheel seals is leaking

The generator runs but he says it leaks water from the water pump not sure what that would be.

Also when they turn on the water pump to use anything in the bathroom water leaks out the bottom of the bus in the back.

Oil temp gage is not working right.

Told me it needs a transmission fluid change before driving it far.

Not sure if the hot water works.

Anyone know what the motor leaking oil might be that seems to be the scary part says it puts out some black smoke.

Also what would it cost to have a new water pump put in the generator if that is the problem?

Seems like if the motor leaking oil and the generator can be fixed for not to much $$ the other things do not seem like they would cost a lot to fix and i could put in a Webasto for hot water and heat and Add a second AC, New air bags on the back and might be in good shape.

Looks to have "cruise air". You could just add a roof unit, but then you need to wire it up. A lot of people did that because they couldn't find someone to work on cruise air. I personally loved my cruises, just lost basement storage. I also had a 40' which had (3) of them, not sure if a 36 only had (2) to start with.
Someone else will chime in with more on that probably.
Oil leaking..... could be the slobber tubes. As said on here before the silvers don't leak like the old green 71's did, mine didn't, well atleast until I replaced the turbo that is...

I has asked about a basement AC and he told me no also the back up camera has been removed.

They have used it very little he says and they say they never spent the night in it even when driving it back from Fl when the got it they stayed in Hotels.

Will see more later today in live video i hope.

The devil will be in the details. Hope it works out to be ok . My guess is it's priced about what it might be worth. I am basing that only because it has been for sale for a good while and hasn't sold. My fear is that it needs a bunch of work. Ed keep in mind you will giving up a bunch of storage from a forty to a thirty six. AND even more with the cruise airs. I do like and prefer the cruise airs in a forty.

I know your trying to work within a budget but my concern is with this bus you are giving up a lot of what you want and may over shot the budget regardless .

It is worth getting more information for sure. Keep us informed what you find out.
