Progressive cancels Wanderlodge

ok i still have progressive with no problems as of yet,,,actually got my rates lowered ,,,,
i dont get it is this a region or state thing ??

I've always used State Farm, which also has my home, multiple autos, business, umbrella, etc. I hate to admit that I've had multiple claims, the largest for $10K back in 2005, but they've all been easily handled. A couple were windshield claims, one body (the 10K, on an SOB) and one property damage when I took out a park pedestal. I have even had a coach tow done through them without issue.

I just canceled my Progressive Insurance through USAA, they would not do an agreed value. Farmers gave me an agreed value (used the McGinnis appraisal) and it was 1/3 of what Progressive was charging me.

Progressive DOES indeed do agreed value. But, you need to go thru the right agent. I found not all agents even know about agreed value and will tell you Progressive does not do it. When in fact they DO. After having my coach appraised I went to several agencies. Found ONE that specializes in RV insurance. They knew what to do. Since March I have, in writing, in the policy, a full fledged agreed value policy with Progressive. The accepted the full appraisal value and wrote the policy accordingly. They broke the payments up in 4 equal payments. Price was reasonable too.

That is great! I, however, did not have that good of luck with progressive. They wanted $1300+ per year NO agreed value (I talked with several agents that just laughed at even trying to get it for my ‘77). I feel lucky I found agreed value (in my contract as well) elsewhere for under $400 a year. I like my agent more and more each day!

Your point about the right agent is solid, great advice for anyone shopping around.

The only thing Progressive would not do is to insure my trailer for the appraised value. It's been customized and painted to match the coach, including aluminum trim to match. But Progressive had no way to do agreed value on it.
Certainly not the end of the world. It's still insured as a trailer so all is well.

I have had the same experience as Don. John M's suggestion to go with a independent agent seems to be a VERY practical suggestion .
