Following up on my earlier post, I was able to open the petcock on the slobber tube reservoir. There was very little oil in the reservoir. I then had a guy at a truck service place crawl underneath. He found a loose and leaking transmission line. He commented that, except for the transmission line, underneath was dry and relatively clean. So let’s hope that was the cause of the mess on the back of the bus. Between some detergent and the pressure washer, the bus and the toad look pretty good. Headed to Florida on Thursday so I can see if that fixed it.

He did find a leaking airbag. As Gilda Radner used to say, “It’s always something.”

That’s good news. Could have been a bigger problem. See you soon

Sounds good Stick, glad they found something and hope that fixes it. If you need anything and are in the Tampa area would be glad to help. Hope your trip goes well.

Thanks, all. I’m going to Pensacola to a GMC Rally tomorrow. We’ll see how it does.

I one of your transmission cooler lines is leaking you had beter have it changed right away. If it blows you will loose your Alison. It is not an easy hose to have made. And not cheap.

I did break a line last summer, but the repair was not too involved. I didn’t do it myself, but the repair shop made a hose and we were off.

That might explain the continued problem with oil or transmission fluid being blown out the back. On my drive between Americus GA and Pensacola, my clean toad was, once again sprayed with some viscous material. I’m sitting on a clean concrete slab in a campground with nary a leak in sight. The transmission fluid was down past the bottom of the dipstick but the engine oil level is fine. If I had a pit, I think I could find and repair this thing.

As of now, it remains a mystery.
