Default BMC 37 headlights

We purchased a '94 BMC37 a few months ago. The unit had been stored outside and the headlight lens are pretty fogged. I've tried Turtle wax brand cleaner with very minimal success. Does anyone have another suggestion - or know if replacements are available? Thanks.

Bill:

Go to your local auto parts store and ask for a headlight restoration kit. There are several different brand names and of the ones I have used I can't tell any difference in the outcomes. A lot cheaper than replacement lens.

As stated in the following thread I have used regular toothpaste to clear up headlight lenses, but here are some other suggestions, check out Wanderlodge Owners Group > Mechanic's Corner > General > Headlight Lens Restoration Kit

The lights on the BMC are marginal at best when new. I found all the info on WOG and I think they are 1995 chevy truck lenses.and blinkers.Rock auto. I wish I would of bought the glass replacement lens but didn't know there's such a thing. The job took about an hour and I did mine in Northern California on the side of the road. A local stopped and asked if I needed a hand.
I miss the road......

Where did you see glass replacements? I saw them once but can't find them now.
Thanks

Where can I find out more about glass replacements? Are the '94 & '97 the same as far as headlights?

Thanks

BMC 94, Xtralights.com has the glass lens, and you can select The HID bulb set up for better vision. You will need to exchange the mounts from your original plastic units to make them work, but the light is 10 times better than the originals. Believe me you don't want weak hazy lights driving in the Ozarks at night. I think I posted this information in the BMC section at one time, and the last time I received an e- mail from Xtra lights the set up was still listed. I also had to re shape the mounting holes in the front cap some to get the lens assembly to sit level, but that is easy to do with a 3/8" round file.

Default Lights

Is that correct, the Top Gear headlights for $109 will fit? How much extra work on the mounts does it take for those?

Lee, are these the headlights from Xtralights that you were talking about?

http://www.xtralights.com/88-98chevy...hidlights.aspx

More expensive but it looks like you get the whole kit and kaboodle

Best,
