For many years at Q, I've had the privilege of watching Lucas in his element - helping others and contributing his vast store of knowledge for our group. His signature shorts and red Plaid jacket are a fixture at our Tech Sessions and his mastery of Bluebird mechanical's never ceased to amaze me. It's fun to go back and watch some of those sessions from years past. However, one of my favorites was last year's Tool Show-n-Tell when Lucas demonstrated his newest favorite tool and assured us all that it had been "officially" tested and approved by none other than Randy D . There is another "impossible" project and of course a Wanderlodge with your trademark Citroen too, waiting for you my friend. God speed.

Lucas will be sorely missed. I had the pleasure of meeting him at Q13 (I think) and at a couple of the Hood River rallys. The lime green CV & LED palm tree will always be rememberrd!
I once posted a question on WOG about location of the fuse for the porch light. Not only did he tell me where it was, he sent me a complete breakdown of all the fuse designations for the load center under the windshield (which I re-posted on WOG just a couple weeks ago, coincidentally) that helped me quite a few times.
I saw he was selling his 'Bird last year; whoever was lucky enough to get it has a gem!

God speed, Lucas!

Lucas and I shared many email conversations after he got his WB. I met him a a few rallies, and I bought the collapsable stool he recommended at " your favourite" tool seminar.
Truly a very nice man.
You will be missed.

Jackie and myself delivered the gifts and a handmade card that were made at the Q rally to Lucas yesterday. If I had not mention previously he is on hospice now. We visited for a little over an hour enjoying Bluebird events and trips from the many adventure he and Linda have had. His son put together picture shows that play on a big screen tv for all to enjoy. We saw his very young great grandson in one of the pictures and Lucas declared "he will be an engineer like me. He loves to take things apart and put them back together"

Their son and daughter-in-law are visiting which allows Linda to get out and about. Hospice assistance and benefits are a blessing. All for now.

If you would like to leave a story of how Lucas touched your life please do.

Having a 95 also, I was lucky enough to call Lucas for help on occasion.
But resent events remind me ......

Cindy bid and won two Bluebird computer cases at the WOG rally auction. If you've never been to the WOG rally, the auction is how we help fund it, so most folks pay stupid money for un-needed items. Afterwards I was ribbing her about paying over a hundred bucks for some dumb case. She said it was TWO cases, and proudly....I already sold one for half money. Who? She points him out.......I think his name is Lucas.
Well it was! Rest well old friend

Kelly and I had the pleasure of rambling 'round the country with Lucas and Linda in 2021...from Portland OR to the WOG rally, to Randy's Warehouse and finally to Brunswick GA. It was the highlight of our summer! Given what has transpired in the past several months, I am so thankful that Lucas and Linda were able to travel and see so much new territory that year.

When I first met Lucas and Linda at Quartzsite sometime around 2010 or so, they had a weird little green car and three mini-pincers that raised holy cain when I approached Lucas. I was kind of intimidated by him!! Over the course of several encounters around the bonfires at Q and many, many tech sessions with Rick Archie, I came to really appreciate the wisdom that Lucas had about 12V systems on our coaches and we became very good friends.

Every day above the grass is a gift... that's why it's called "The Present"

Best wishes Lucas and have fun on the next 'Road Trip' around the universe.

I have not met Lucas or his wife, but his posts on the WOG have helped me to fix some things; giving me some ideas of things to possibly do.

The great part of WOG is that the collective knowledge of many dedicated members is still retained and available to all.

Thank you and keeping you and your family in our prayers

Hi Lucas,

I want you to know what a pleasure it was working with you over the phone a few years ago as you were troubleshooting and fixing an electrical problem on Shahin Khosravi's coach. I'm especially thankful that I had the good fortune to meet and talk with you in person at the 2021 Pine Mountain WOG Rally and to see the coolest Toad ever. God's speed my friend...
