getting the same phone as the SO is always a great choice. for many reasons.

I switched from a large iPhone to a large android for a couple of years and lately back to an iPhone(a small older one). they all interact with the forum the same. a bit clunky, but usable with some practice.

However, the iPhone is easier to simply locate pictures and put them on the forum since iOS puts all photos in one place called "photos" and there's no way to realistically "lose" pictures. and that can happen easily on an android, (between the download folders, the picture file, the DCIM camera folder, and then are any on the SD card or internal storage??)

Apple has created an "easier" user interface to use because they don't allow custom/personalized options for a lot of things, and many people hate that idea. but it DOES actually make it easier to just get things done in 99% of today's mobile data life.

I have an iPhone, have learned if you take pictures with the phone long side horizontal to the ground then you do not have to worry about sideways pictures on here.. same with video if you do those as well. I get a hand me down iPhone every time the other half gets a new one.. that’s part of the reason I have the iPhone, it works well and is fairly user friendly.. of course you are coming from the Stone Age so it’s going to be a steep learning curve, like a noob in a new Wanderlodge...

No matter what phone you get, when taking pictures you have to take a photo in landscape orientation, if in portrait the pics will be sideways...

Also the right orientation for the phone is important in landscape as to not take a picture if you take it, it will be upside down, when posted on WOG!!!

With an iphone you have to correctly take images in correct orientation, in landscape you have to have the start button of the phone to your right side, otherwise it will be upside down when posted...

SERIOUSLY?!!!! I never thought you would be crossing over to the dark side. I have a Samsung S-10 because the wife got one and I got one for nothing on her plan. Anyway, it will do about everything but wipe my a**. I use it to talk on and I don't even do that very well. Pictures NO! FB NO! WOG NO! I have a camera and my laptop. I don't need no stinking phone I want to see you with a Dick Tracy phone. I looks good on my daughter's wrist and I'm sure on Carol's also. But ours?!!!!!!

Well, my job is teaching/fixing tech. And I learned something simple today that I have somehow passively overlooked after having iPhones for years. Thanks! I looked this up on google after reading here and came across the following:

Bill Anthony posted information on the correct orientation of the phone years ago, but apparently most people thought they knew better and kept on doing wrong anyway. I refuse to look at pics that are upside down, because I have a computer and it is a PIA. On the phone it is impossible, because the auto rotate won't let you see it right side up. People seem to not care about things anymore. "Sorry about your luck, but it is inconvenient for me to take my pic with the phone sideways. So you can just stand on your head to view it." Not in my world.
