Tell Us Where You're At As you travel around the country, why not take the time to tell our members where you have settled for the night, week, or month. There may be another member close by, that would like to meet you, so put that information right here.

Default Salton City

Joy and I are native Californians, and have been all over California and the rest of the nation, but when we were looking for some place to stop on our way from Q to San Diego we realized that neither of us had ever been to the Salton Sea, so here we are! Salton City, on the West shore, is an odd place, obviously someone had some grandiose plans at one time that just didn't happen. Probably go up to Borrego Springs tomorrow.

Pretty bleak. Not as in pretty. But county road S22 going west has sensational views. Expect 2 mpg.

We stopped there after Quartzsite, Las Vegas and Death Valley last year. It's easy to see that it would be a very odiferous place if visited in the summer. It was nice in the Winter. We also went to the Sonny Bono (yes of Somny and Cher fame) bird sanctuary on the south end.

Default Borrego Springs

Today we drove up through the badlands to Borrego Springs. Enjoyed a nice lunch at a table in the Christmas Circle, then went out geocaching among the iron sculptures north of town. Just a few of the pictures taken:
