Default Alliance Coach Jack /Slide issue

wanted to report we have chosen to allow Alliance coach in Wildwood to work on our Jack/Slide issue . We arrived 2 nights ago and was able to pick a camp spot without a check in . In the morning we were greeted by a service rep who wanted to know all about the issue in detail . Today at 7am sharp as promised we were greeted by our Tech who again went over the issue in detail with us . Our tech is a x BB employee . as I know more about the issue and repair I will update .

Issue is Slide will not extend , this is after hours of calls and advise from HWH . we look forward to a quick and inexpensive solution

Hey al,

What are the symtoms? my slides do not always go out OR come in as desired. I have to re-level the jacks to make the slide extend/retract. Even though the "level" lite is illuminated, the pump just whines and the slides do not move. (old problem, old thread)

I sometimes have to re-level 2-3 times.

I am not looking forward to the day the slide does not retract and I am stuck.

If I ever get the chance, I am going to HWH to have the slides serviced. I am interested to hear of your experience at Allience, they are closer than HWH. and probably less expensive.

Good thing it will not go out instead of not retracting......

Dennis,

I like the way you approach a issue hahaha . I agree with you on the level part of this issue . I do believe this is where my issue lies and why I choose to mention this as a possible issue . we all know no level / no slide . I will keep you posted .

Al,

So far I have been able to find out little about the slide design, functionality, documentation, and work arounds. As you stated, the leveling and slides are tied together.

I think , the issue I have is attributed to:

1. leveling issues where the slide is binding (what I am thinking)
2. Slide does not think it is level and will not extend/retract. (is the slide that smart?)

Since I have two slides, they seem to have minds of there own and I reluctantly use them. There HAS to be documentation on the installation/trouble shooting somewhere. But I do not know where.

Hopefully you have found a knowledgable source and I will be calling Alliance.

Dennis ,
today was spent eliminating possible causes . I wish I could tell you my slide now opens , but that would be a lie . I can tell you that if HWH had been available we most likely would have found the source of the issue today . as it stands we still have a jack and slide issue . I am hopeful that the new day will produce answers and we will be off to Ricks to pick up our new to us Toad .

well todays news is not much better . as we all know dealing with HWH on the phone is near impossible , if this company had competition they would be long gone . we are at a stand still till a call from the HWH tech comes in . They state bla , bla bla for there failure to return calls . Van and the folks at Alliance have been great , they want no money till they resolve the issue , our problem is we don't have weeks to stay in there fine campground as many of the other owners here have been doing , while we wait for HWH to return a call .

I must say with the Villages across the street , you could be in worst spots . we will keep you posted .

p.s.
we did get a fine bus wash today

Al,

Sorry to hear no quick fix.

So what happens when you try to extend?

Are the lights on before you turn the key? (mine are)

Does the ready to operate light come on after you turn the key? (Mine does)

When you push the extend button does the pump whine? (Mine does)

Again, I have to re-level for the slide to move.

Also, what has Alliance done to "narrow" down the problem. 2 days they must have looked at something.

Does the WOG have any slide "experts" out there?

Thanks for the input Al.

Dennis,
everything works as it should with the exception of the slide moving hahaha

lights , cameras , NO ACTION

now we have about 8 man hours into this so far . on line HWH has a check list that we " the tech " have gone thru over and over . every test shows that the slide should move . I fear we will find the issue to be the sync cylinder , this would be a 8 day wait and not to mention the cost . I must say there is a 2009 Beaver with 4 slides hahahaha it is starting to look mighty nice to the Mrs lol Not really she s easy to keep happy , here all I do is let her go over to the villages for some dancing . Let me tell you something else , I have seen more smiles at the funeral parlor than I see here . talk about issues wow!!! well if your in the neighborhood , we are in spot 22 plan to start mail service Monday hahaha
