I am old, but not confused. I did make a wrong assumption.

Posts # 1, 2, 3, and 4 on this thread are about a gas refer that caught on fire.

Mikes post is #5, and I quote, "No reason not to change over to house type units these days."

I assumed Mike was commenting on the fire issue. I was wrong. He was commenting on the greater capacity of house type refers versus gas refers.

Posts #6 and #7 are about refer fires, I think.

My post is #8, and I quote "There are a number of reasons not to change over to a house type unit."

I'm sorry, I apologize.

Mike, you are 100% correct about capacity.

The real deal is if you have one of the rv style fridges that have been known to have a fire issue, then you really need to be careful.
We have a member here that was a die hard RV fridge guy.
he dry camps all winter, with strict generator rules.
He got tired of fixing his RV fridge (that was quite new) and put in a samsung,
now he wonders what took him so long to change!

I run my genny very little.

Default norcold refrigerator change

for me it would be peace of mind when i went to sleep, not waking up with my rig on fire and the possibility that i may not be able to get out
