Had the same problem with an SOB and crossfires. I was lucky, a car pulled up to warn me that my inside rear tire was flat. Don't use them anymore.

That horrible news but good that John and his cat are ok. Watching your pride and joy go up in smoke can be a horrific experience. Trust me I know!

John, I hope you can get your bird up and going soon!

God speed John. You got a pass this time. Timely fire extinguisher activity, great job.

Get rid of those Crossfires, that was the reason I never had any.

Dan

Actually this doesn't sound like a problem with the crossfire but with the tire itself. Crossfires equalize the air in both dual tires but if there is a pressure drop of 10 lbs or more it closes a valve to keep both tires from losing air. His tire would have gone flat either way and I can't see how they would have prevented the tire pressure sensor from activating. He may find that the pressure sensor was faulty. If I am not mistaken the inner tire was flat but not the outer tire. The outer tire may have blown from the heat and the extra load it was carrying.
IMHO.

Found this - supposedly somebody makes custom hoses for crossfires that allow you to use two sensors (one per tire)

Ed Donnelly Enterprises at 1-800-774-1944

Couldn't find a website..

So the crossfires are not compatible with tire sensors without this modification. I was not aware of that. I have the crossfires on my coach but I don't run tire sensors.
