You can get singles from a number of places, amazon has them.
Its sort of plug and pray, you have to cut and splice the wires...

If you want you can stick a led in the old one, I did that one time.
Its easier to put a new one in ;}

When I had to replace the stainless piece under the door on my '99LXi43 I chose to go a different route. 3 LED fixtures in amber (to match the porch lights) lighted the stem and the ground underneath it. The top ones are step lights available most anywhere and the under step LED is an 8" strip from a truckstop.



For existing stainless, your way is MUCH easier. I uploaded this so you could see the under step light.
