Gardner. It looks like you have some snow regardless of which way you go things have not changed much. Even if you get all the way down onto interstate 10 along the Mexico border there are chances of snow. At higher elevations. Texas is still loaded with rain and ice and that’s the one that scares me.

Mark,
I am looking at the Plantation RV park East of Dallas in Sunnyvale. If we land there Monday and stay a couple of nights (leave Wednesday or Thursday) would that help Ice/Snow wise? Probably wind up near Phoenix to meet up with some friends.

Nix Plantation-they are booked solid, no availability!!
Ended up at KOA near Arlington.

It’s getting more difficult to tell her actually. We just had a small storm come through Yuma which will be heading west into (Most Likly) Northern New Mexico. But if it hangs down south they could run across Texas. Should know more by mid day tomorrow. Are you committed to the Texas route?

It's raining? Oh yea, in Arizona, this is what they call 6 inch rain. Is that right Mark?

Gardner, at that rate you'll see a blue/silver SP on yer 6 soon. I crossed the Smokies today making a little smoke of my own. I've never been to Nashville, so I might linger there, but at this point, you're just a few days ahead. The weather along I-40 today was sublime, so I'm hoping for a good break in that freakin' winter weather down south. There's a big low west of Baja that is streaming warm moisture across Tex and up to the east. It is also responsible for sucking the jet stream down to the Mex border. Grrr. Need to break up that low, fill it in with a high. Maybe a wall?

Just got back to Albuquerque from Deming. Nice and warm, 50’s misting to light rain on the drive up. I think the Bird likes to eat that moist air.

You can get the forecast for your route and days of travel on here.

Our 3 nights to Q from Weatherford using Passport America RV parks...

Van Horn Tx........Oasis RV park. Not pretty, but ez-off, ez-on for I-10
Demming NM .....A Roadrunner RV park. An entire row of pull thru for one nighters plus there is a very easy access Valero Truck stop near one of the Demming exits.

Picacho Peak Az....Picacho Peak RV park. Past Tucson and about 10 miles before Eloy and M&M wheel polishing
Or
Arizona City, Az.....High Chapparal RV park not as easy to get to but good for laundry etc.

Passport America gives half price at these parks making them almost better than Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart in Demming is full, don't even try.

Be sure you take I-8 to Gila Bend and then from there to 10 on the Phoenix Bypass

On 10, the Vicksberg exit at around Mile 45 is a good fuel stop.
