Default Adding Aux Air Comp

Have a 93 Wb 40 and I want to add Aux Air Compressor. I think the place for it is in the 3rd roadside compartment on the metal raised shelf? There is an air quick connect in that compartment. I do not see a 110v recepticle but there is a box with cover in upper left corner. Is that the switched connection point for the dash on off switch?? Be nice to be able to just add a recepticle and just plug it in!!!
Tx as always!!!
Bob

Bob,
Most of the quick connects are separated from the air system with a pressure-protection valve. Everythiing except the brake system is separated from the main system by pressure-protection valves. The valves protect the brake system in the event there is a major leak elseware. They will not allow you to pressurize the coach system unless the coach system already has sufficient existing pressure to open the valve. Usually 70 lbs give or take.

Many of the pusher coaches have a schrader valve in the engine area that is connected directly to the tanks. Someone else will probably reply with the location of yours.

Open that box and test the circuit(s) while someone operates the dash switch. Could be what you are looking for. Our pancake compressor sat on a shelf in the 3rd street side bay. The 120V came from a box as you describe. You will need to find the correct air line to splice in. Ours was spliced in up on top of and just beyond the 3rd bay. There might be a blocked off tee up there on your coach. Ours is a '87 PT 38. Good luck.

hi bob
in our 94 we can back feed all air circuits except brakes at quick connect in 3ed. bay...we have power in upper left corner has 120 volt receptacle i power our comp. with at this time, in upper right corner we have 4x4 handy box with 120v.caper off (power for factory air compressor?) and one green 14ga. wire...i can,t find where other end of green wire is located....i thought in would be some where in front of bus-just don't know where...i thought it must be to operate relay for dash sw. wish you luck if you figure it out let me know!!!
