Default 2020 Birds at the Beach Update

As of this time the rally is still on !!!! The campground has closed the game room but as of now other places in the campground are still open.

We may have to change our schedule if the meeting room is not available at the time and I will keep everyone posted, we may have to circle up the tables and eat outside.

All inside restaurant dining in SC has been closed as of now, this may change by rally time so a group dinner may not work but a bunch of grilled burgers may have to take their place as we can cook out.

As we get closer and see that is going on I will keep everyone advised. Due to the campground being booked up it is not possible to change the dates so stay tuned as things develop. This group can always have a good time sitting around outside and keeping our distance.

More to come. Bryan

Immunity is when the body is able to fight the virus enough to overwhelm it. Because this is a "novel" virus our bodies don't recognise it as an enemy so don't attack it.
But our immune systems learn quickly! Theoretically, if we get it & recover from it, we would be immune from that strain. But if the virus mutates again (it has already, from animal/animal, to animal/human to human/human) depending on how radically it mutates, COVID-19 survivors may or may not have immunity.
As for the temperature thing, 26C or higher will kill it (about 83F). But it's not a "hard" number; it will survive outside of a host for far less time in the seventies, say than the 50's, and low humidity helps kill it too...maybe we should all go back to Quartzsite for a few weeks
(Above info culled from various CDC & WHO articles; being high risk, I like to keep current!)

If you have to cancel the beach trip, a tour around the Atlanta Airport around midnight is always exciting. Remember to also pull a 30 foot trailer.

Unfortunately we cancelled our reservation.
Canadian border is closed to non essential travel.
We were looking forward to this rally.

Default UPDATE

Good morning all, hope everyone is doing great. As of now the rally is still on with the hopes that some restrictions will be lifted prior to the rally date.

Just a quick update, as of this week public groups of more than 3 persons have been made unlawful in SC. As far as the campground they are open but the pools, fun center and activity building area closed, this makes it unsure if we would have access to the meeting room. The meet and eat is open since it is a take out and the store is open. All restaurants are closed except for take out in South Carolina.

In order to give everyone time to make plans, one way or the other, we will make a decision on April 1st and post here on WOG.

It is my prayer that this will pass and we all get back to normal and have a great rally but as a group we don't want to put anyone in harms way.

Keep you posted, Bryan

Bryan, many thanks for staying on top of these developments.
We get it that this is a day-to-day situation. Our thinking is if Ocean Lake is open AND we are healthy (symptom free), we are planning to come to the rally. Of course we expect ourselves and others to follow the health guidelines while we are there. We are looking forward to seeing those who can make it, and enjoy a break from the stresses of recent weeks.
Ocean Lakes has updated their refund policy along with other pertinent info on their website.
