I would open the door up, and look for broken welds. Years of opening and closing can sure break some of the bracing. If not fixed, it will continue to flex, more and more, and cause more and more cracking of welds, or the braces themselves. And, it might not be broken either. But, if you don't open it up and look, you will not really know what is going on.

I have had this same issue with our LXI.

the repair is to remove the inside door panel and rivet the broken straps . There are color coded wires you will need to cut an replace .

was not a bad job and a easy fix
