Welcome ladies, this is a comfortable place to post and get some good information. We are on our second bird and have been traveling to rallies and dropping in on friends since 2000. You may have seen a crazy purple coach trimmed in silver, rose and aqua blue going up or down the interstate, that's us and a bassett hound Dixie. For all you quilters and cooks we need to chat more.
Remember a question asked is a question answered.

Patticake, Lessie here. We are on a train heading for Florida to begin our life with a beautiful bird we have named Roundtuit. Your other half told me you were a quilter. Could you please tell me how you store your material stash in your bird? Do you take only what you plan to work with on projects or all of your stash? Trying to figure this area out before my hubby does..

Lessie, other half of Ed

So glad we have finally connected. There are many places to stuff your stuff. Several of our girls live in their coaches and quilt. A yard of fabric and a hammer don't weight the same. My machine lives at the foot of the bed(ELNA Quilters Dream) with my holds everything bag. My cutting mat lives under the mattress as do my 2 and 3 inch strips (bagged and marked) that I cut from left over projects, they become a put anything together quilt, matt etc. Patterns and mags wherever they fit. My entire stash has a cottage to live in next to my house and takes up floor to ceiling in one bedroom 4 walls.
I just take whatever I need for the time we will be gone. I take a hand quilting project incase I finish what I have. You will always bump into quilters in Bluebirds. No worries.
Patticake

Patti is an awesome quilter!
We are lucky to have her and other quilters here on WOG.
Pat from Az.
Nancy from Fl.
Patticake and others do some awesome work!.
Different styles of quilting, between the girls.

I'm watching and learning about the styles, but i doubt you will see me competing with the girls!!

Patti, Thanks for the info. Sadly, for me, Ed thinks a yard, or even a scrap of material is heavier than his hammer. I like the idea of the cutting mat under the mattress. I have been eyeing the 'well' behind the headboard in the bedroom. Ed is looking to stash spare parts and such in there, thinking he may not notice a couple tubs of my stash in there. . It is dark I there if the light bulbs are missing. . . I aim to carry a bit of my quilt stash and yarn stash. I look forward to meeting you and other quilters and crafters on the road one day.

Randy, I have noticed your many talents as I read posts in this forum. I am very impressed, I'm sure many others are as well, so trying your hand at quilting should not surprise too many.. Be very interesting to see your style of Randy-made quilts. Please, a competition 'tween you and a few quilters would be something to see. Make money for the WOG if tickets and popcorn was sold. Just an idea

Lessie typing with Ed out of the room.

Lessie,we are going to get along just fine!!
I have been looking at a wall here in the shop, its plywood and needs to be dressed up.
I have been looking at my sheet metal scraps, thinking i need to "quilt " that wall with odd shapes.
Metal of course!
Carol and the girls are always cutting metal with the plasma cutter, maybe the girls should "quilt" the wall?
