Default WOG 2014 Horseback riding

Attention Women!

Gladys is planning a horseback-riding outing at FDR State Park. It is a 1-hour ride along a winding trail along side a creek within the park. The ride is a guided tour with guides assisting those with little to no horseback experience. The standard rate is $40 dollars, however if we have 10 we will have a discounted rate of $30 per person (tipping encouraged). The guides are volunteer young folks so the park does encourage tipping. Each vehicle will have to pay a $5 state park parking fee or the campground can provide a shuttle that can carry up to 7 people, which would not incur the state park parking fee.
Gladys will be going on the first ride Tuesday morning (10/21) leaving the campground at 9:45. The maximum number of riders per group is 10. Other group rides can go on 1 ½ hour intervals up to 2:00 PM. The second day for group rides is Saturday with the same scheduling times. For any other times please feel free to contact the park in order to make reservations. Gladys can give contact info as can the campground office.
Reservations are required so to reserve your spot in a group please contact Gladys Stiles at 678-362-4062 or stop by site 112. If you are interested, feel free to contact Gladys anytime between now and the rally and during the rally. Please keep in mind that the groups are 10 people max with first come first serve.
We highly recommend this ride. Neither Gladys nor I have experience and recently while staying at Pine Mountain RVC for a rally-planning trip, we did the 1 hour ride and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ride was relaxing and the young helpers were very friendly and professional.

Sounds like fun. We will probably both do it. We'll see as we get closer. Wow, it is already close. Hot dog.

Default Horseback riding

I want to mention that although the note starts out "attention women", the horseback rides are open to all. Gladys initially thought this would be a good "girls outing" but then realized that husbands may want to go also with or without. I really enjoyed it and will likely go on one of the rides.....

Last time I tried to ride a horse the poor animal looked at me and said... "Seriously??" "I'm not a Clydesdale!"
