Default Turkey Anyone?

This is probably not the best time to ask that question. After all the turkey eaten at Thanksgiving and Christmas I probably won't have any takers. The turkeys must know we have all had our fill too and have no fear of coming up to the house. I was sitting down reading my Sunday morning paper, when Michele called me to the dining room window. Here is what she saw

I have often felt like I lived in the middle of a game preserve. We see 20 turkeys here. We have seen as many as 23 deer in the yard. Unbelievable numbers of rabbits, squirrels, etc. Not to mention all the birds and waterfowl on the pond I had to trap some raccoon that started becoming pests and got 18 one weekend. We had a guy come and hunt coyotes, because Michele could hear them howling at night. So he showed up about two weekends in a row and bagged 16 of them. He told me that there were at least that many more out there. He must have been right Michele is scared to let the dogs out at night because she hears them howling. I have to go out and guard them with my, you know, that thing I can't talk about

I guess I did forget about those didn't I Rick. There are some real monsters in that pond. I'm not sure I would ever go swimming in there. One of those snappers get a hold of you, you would know it. I don't know how many could be in there but every spring I see hundreds of little turtles sunning themselves on floating logs out there. There are a ton of frogs out there too. I bet I run over a dozen every time I mow out by the pond.
