Some forum member needs to get this.

In 2005 I paid $123.18 for mine and I carry the old one, which is still good with me as a spare, I just cleaned it up and placed it in the new solenoids box and put it up in my STOR-MOR on the roof with my other spare parts. http://www.pbase.com/iamflagman/image/45421157 the problem ended up being the wiring and not the shut off solenoid, but I had already purchased the new one, so I went ahead and installed it, plus I fixed the wiring problem at the same time.

My above post mentions the price I paid for a new one $123.18 in 2005 and here is another one on Ebay, if I didn't already have a spare I'd be buying this one now.

That is a good price...worth the grab!

I'll echo Johns experience in that the solonoid itself is a pretty simple and trouble free device. The photo shows the unit as it would be positioned to "stop"...the plunger is out/down. When 12vts is applied the plunger retracts and lets the stop fuel lever up.

The "failure" most of us seem to get is a bad wiring connection at the device or along the wiring harness, and the second issue is low voltage to the unit. This causes the plunger to fall down...just like you turned off the ignition.

My specific "fail" was the terminal came off. I did replace with a new solonoid later but my "get down the road" was just to use a hose clamp and electrical tape to resecure it.

When all else fails...you can start and run the engine with the soloniod removed I've heard...to stop engine, you use a screwdriver to push the stop lever down.
