Do a Google search on the forum and find the part numbers on those rocker breaker switches Pape & I posted them several years back. Another option if you can get to the wires is to put in a 15 amp blade fuse on each absent breaker.

Work on one issue at a time. If you don't get fire/power you may have a bad pin or pins on the round cannon plug. Without a pin puller you can jump around the pin. Between Pape and I we have encountered just about any problem you can find on that Onan. You're welcome to call me if you like. Good luck.

Got my generator back from the Onan shop. They replaced the cannon plug, 2 circuit breakers, and the solenoid. Runs great but now it's overheating and shutting off automatically. I will investigate once it cools down.

Onan still has those cannon plugs ? Is the new one beefier than the old one.

Did you get your old solenoid back, it may still be good ? If you still have it and a volt ohm meter you can test it.

You may need to get the air out of the cooling system, run it till 180/190 without the coolant cap on the reservoir make sure you have enough coolant in the reservoir. Let it cool off and repeat. Should be able to get the air out like that. You could also burp the radiator by squeezing the hoses on the radiator under the coach, the one on the passenger side is easier to get to.

Before you do all that make sure your cooling fan is working. It’s a huge squirrel cage furnace fan over the radiator.

Also you may want to pull the radiator and power wash it, or at least pull the cover off the bottom and hose it out.

Lots of threads on this subject do a search for the Onan.

probably referring to pulling it out and power washing out the fins from the outside to get all the dust and debris so the air can travel through the fins freeway

I can definitely check. The last trip was very dirty and a fine mud got all over the bus.

I didn’t mean blast it, maybe take it down to the car wash and clean it out.BB used this foam insulation that’ just crumbles off and what ever other junk has accumulated over the last 30 years. It made a big difference when I cleaned mine. My generator never runs over 190f even on the hottest days.

For anyone's future reference the I recently replaced the circuit breakers on our Onan, Cummins Part #320-1140. Still available and only $13 each. Like many others have complained the rocker in the switch had failed and fell out at some point over the years. Ours however continued to make good contact as they never gave us issues.
