Default Reuse Gray Water

Came across this and figured I'd share with our Boon Docking Folks . Not in my plans of upgrades but maybe others would be interested .

Yep,all he has is a simple check valve preventing himself from killing himself.
Nobody has ever had a check valve go bad.

BLAH.

Campervan Kevin ran into some dude who had a more kinda OK setup that recycled shower water while you were taking a shower into taking a longer shower. It would capture the drain water and filter it and run it back out of the shower head. I think that could be made to work out for extreme boondocking. In theory you could take a 10 minute shower with just a few gallons of water.

I can do a pretty darn good Navy shower now. We go a week or so without hookups, and I think we could do 2 weeks. But we all have larger tanks than most people these things are targeted to.

“Until now, the best gray water recycling method involved using a 5-gallon bucket to capture running water while you waited for the shower water to heat up.”

This guy obviously doesn’t subscribe to the WOG. If he did, he’d have seen our QuickHot design that’s way less complicated and which presents no danger of contaminating the pure side of his water system

Skip to 2:30. The guy has this all set up outdoors, but I can see how this could be configured on the inside of an RV to work the same way.

I was at an FMCA convention way back when, working as a vendor.
We dry camped for a week and the day after the rally was over we headed to the dump/fill station on the campus,i'm pretty sure this event was held on a collage campus somewhere out west.
Of course the line was very long and we waited like everyone else to take our turn.
There was several men standing around the dump station and a couple of trash cans etc.
I walked up to see what was happening and one of the men was a heath dept guy,or maybe he was a hospital admin guy,i think.
Anyway, when your turn came to dump and fill he was watching where your fresh water hose was stored,if it came out of the dump water bay and was dirty and ugly he would help you out by cutting the female end off and taking the hose from you.
He was very verbal telling the rver what a dumb person he was by trying to poison everyone around by contaminating the water with a nasty hose.
I walked back to the bus and told Carol she needed to go watch this guy,and she did.
I bet he cut up 500 hoses that day.
He was bleaching the hose hydrant between every use too.

I was wishing i had a bus load of new hoses to sell that day!

There’s a few companies offering these recycling showers here’s one

https://orbital-systems.com

It would seriously extend boondocking times.

I think its like batteries . That is with 900 ah you can only use 400 or so . so you have 180 g of fresh water whats the big deal if I can only use 140 or so . I'm sure we all remember the camper we had that help 26g or so of water with 1.5" thick walls that the average wind shook , lol
