Default GG's Crazy Idea

All that time I spent lying on the couch in my migraine misery, watching more Netflix than one ever should, got me inspired on my next residence. What if I built my barndominum subterranean? Meaning I would carve it into the side of a hill so it is covered by earth on at least 3 sides and the top. This would be hurricane proof, provided we don't flood. It would also be heat and cold proof as subterranean living is kept at a cool average temp year round. I love the idea of living in a manmade cave. Now I just need to find a building site that is conducive to such a structure. Finding it difficult to search for non level sites...lol

you need to fins an old quarry and dig into the spoil piles.
just think,if the quarry has water in it you have a lake and a mountain, and a house in the side of the mountain.
You also have to find a county that will let you do this without a lot of GBS.

Or at least some decent hills in the Northern part of Fl. Like I said, just a crazy idea I have. We could have the first BB to be kept underground. lol

Too late for that. John McGinnis used to keep his bus in an underground storage facility years ago. https://louisvilleunderground.com/#vehicle

A property across the road from our house has a Rock Quarry which is presently used as a Diving School and the property has great topography for building an Earth-Sheltered Bus enclosure. Picture 95 of 99 is one of my favorites. I have no financial interest in this property.
