Chris. If I read that aticle correctly Spartan sold their emergeny response division to Rev. The RV chassis manufacturing was not sold. Rev already made some specialty ER units. It was a boring read so I hope I got that right!

Yeah I read the article before I really understood. The gripe in the article was they hope the RV division is not next.

The RV market is not like it used to be,how many builders use Spartan chassis?

Spartan chassis are used largely in the fire truck and rescue vehicles. I'm sure with budgets and low mileage in most areas less and less of these vehicles are being replaced as often as they used to. A lot of depts are spending their budgets on new technology and firefighter gear with money donated during a pancake or chili feed.

I live near Spartan and they just keep expanding. I think most of their work now is defense department contracts.

Some of the fire truck manufacturers build their own chassis in house for the custom trucks . We have bought fire trucks on Spartan Chassis , but it is not the norm today .
The conventional fire trucks are built using regular production cab and chassis trucks.
