Question "83 FC main propane regulator

I've been nervous about the propane regulator someone put on my main line (found out the guy used a used part and is a tweeker!), so I'm trying to figure out what to replace it with.
Ever since he replaced the old one (I smelled propane), my propane has run through fast, and is now out.
Pictures help with explanations.

I don't know why (this was on it when I got the bird) they have a copper pipe coming off of the tank to the regulator, then hose.
I couldn't get photo's to load...below are the links.

Please define “hose”? Does it look like a gas rated hose and fittings?

Test fittings with soapy water to find any leaks. Also suggest a good wire brush scraping of that tank and a repaint....all are normal upkeep.

I’ll post up a photo of our OEM set up so you can see it. All components are fairly standard and easily sourced from a rv or propane dealer.

We have the primary regulator mounted and shown in photo - everything downstream of this regulator is low pressure gas. A tee fitting right at this primary regulator is fitted with a copper line that runs gas to an auxiliary regulator and a valve/female fitting to allow hookup of a gas item like a grill. This aux. regulator is stuck almost out of sight/access to rear end of the tank.

Check the Manchester Tank site for more info: http://www.mantank.com/products/rv-p...s-accessories/

Photo showing aux. regulator. Copper feed line at bottom of photo. Top line goes to a shut off valve and female fitting for a portable gas line.
