1985 Airstep parts
The airstep on my 1985 PT40 has failed: air leaks constantly from the controller and the main cylinder, and the step does not retract. Are repair kits (elastomer seals, for example) available to rebuild the three cylinders? Are NOS or other replacement parts available?
The three assemblies are marked... <Aro Fluid Power 1825 1009 1044 SN 1248> main cylinder <Aro Fluid Power 0176 7029 010 SN 738> locking pin <Aro Fluid Power 5840 2929 02 SN 2581?> air controller Thanks-- M.R.Kane 1985 PT40 currently Pilot Point, TX |

Google pops this up searching for ARO Fluid Power.
Apparently a division of IR now... http://fluids.ingersollrand.com/IS/c...y.aspx-en-4226 HTH, Joe

Hi Stephen, the actuating rod had backed out of the coupling on mine. When I was under there reconnecting, I noticed what appears to be some sort of spring loaded hook with the spring rusted and gone. This would seem to be some sort of manual latch? when there is no air pressure in the system my step remains extended. Are you familiar with what I'm talking about and do you have the parts to rebuild this latch?

new .air solenoids are nice but for a few bucks you can disassemble the air solenoid clean it up and replace the seals with standard O rings available at NAPA or most auto or truck parts. I did mine on the FC and the present PY
