There was a good used one that just sold for around $1500.
There was also another one listed here on wog a week ago, check the parts for sale forum.

Good morning.

Your prices seem to be a little high. We just had one made for the 79 all aluminum. Our guy couldn't see us spending $2400 to re-core very old tanks so we went the extra couple of dollars for a brand new custom-made radiator which worked out. Just ran 500 miles up to ME and the temp didn't move towing a VW on a trailer! $3000 brand new.

We also deleted the two extra ports which allowed the transmission cooling tank to be 30% larger than the original. I will have Alex post a picture with the information.

Just a benchmark for you and not suggesting this is what you should do. The radiator that John just posted is in much better condition than the one we removed from the 79. We did not keep it and we didn't feel like it was something we would want to sell or even waste time shipping to someone for free.
Good luck!
We'll watch your thread.

If your patient and have basic welding and fab abilitys you can search ebay and other sites and find something that will work.
Mike H has the real plan in my mind,a swing out core and the top tank is divorced and stays in place.
This is the way the 87-89 rads were done in the FC's.
Mike has that stuff custom made but if your handy or have a handy friend you may be able to do it yourself.
