Default Retirement!

As some of you may remember, our original timeline was to start the search for a coach about now, with the idea that we'd have it within a year so we could do the necessary repairs and upgrades before putting the farm up for sale. The planned retirement date was the end of the 2014-15 school year.

After crunching the numbers, and a faster than anticipated sale of the mpg and purchase of a coach, I'm retiring at the end of this year instead! 7 June will be my last day. Of course, there is still plenty to do on the Foretravel, and very little of the stuff here has actually gone away. I'm guessing that we probably won't be able to list the place for a year, but when it does sell we can immediately head out on the road.

In the meantime, we LIKE visitors. We have a 30A connection, and if you have a L-O-O-N-G sewer hose you can even dump. Fresh water isn't a problem, either. I've gotten our 40' Foretravel in and out (and turned around) so you can turn your 'Bird around, too.

Congrats, I left 8/31/11. I haven't looked back. You CAN'T retire to soon. Even though I retired pretty early at 52 (I was 53 three days later), I figure you can only "kind of" count on 70 years old to be able to do what you want. That doesn't mean that many don't exceed 70 in going and doing, the number of people that can seems to quickly decline after that age. When you look at it that way, you can't start too early.

I wish you guys over 70 many more years so I can move that date out in my head to 75 or 80 or even 90 in some of your cases. I do think if you are doing this at 85 you are truly blessed.

Working 24 x 7 on a laptop and speaker phone was killing me. I feel 100% better and can do more and more and FEEL like doing more and more all the time.

Agreed. I'm busier than I've ever been, pay is horrible, hours are great and I still have a boss, BUT I'm havin' the time of my life!
