Default Two fuel tanks - will not switch

When we bought the coach both diesel tanks were half full (or half empty ). So we filled both up and rolled down the road. 150 miles later the needle has not moved (still F). So I flip the dash switch to other tank and it is 3/4 .
We tried to fill rear tank back up but it is full, Bird only uses front tank no matter which way the switch is switched.
Both are 100 Gal tanks.
Are there other birds with 2 fuel tanks like that? 2 Fill ins are only on passenger side.
Not sure where to start. Would like to use both tanks.

normally only one fuel tank for the engine. On some units there is a separate take for a gasoline generator.

Diesel genny and Hydrahot. It is an oddball, not a Wanderlodge but a Bluebird "All American" I think.
Both are diesel tanks. My Cummins guy thought maybe one is just for the genset. But that seems to be overkill.
The gauge switches to show each tank level but it just uses the front one.

On Retro, a 67 gasoline powered Wanderlodge with 2 fuel tanks, the dash switch is for the gauges only, the fuel is switched by a selector valve on the floor in front of the drivers seat. By 99 I think they may be using electrically operated valves, but you never know. The generator is fueled only from the front tank on Retro.
