Don’t be to hard on yourself, when it’s your own there’s a tendency to think the worst.

Yes. No Harm and No Foul. We all make those kind of mistakes and we learn and go on forward with additional knowledge. Now you know that your CAC and radiator are clean and in good shape and that you have the ability to get them in and out as needed.
That looks like the water line for cooling the Air Compressor Head. I think I would think about replacing that hard copper line with a flexible hose if it was mine. I’m not sure Hyd hose is what you need but maybe someone here or at a good parts house like Napa could tell you. PS — I did not mean to sound condescending when emphasizing the difference between a CAC and Radiator. They are a lot alike and the job of heat removal is similar but they are not interchangeable. Glad you are making progress. Hope the high temperatures didn’t hurt your engine. Max.

And its looks copper, not a good idea in a high vibration area. Maybe someone else has an input

Maybe another SP owner can verify the routing of the cooling lines.
Attached is a picture of the compressor in our 88 FC, same 300 hp 3208 engine. The compressor appears to be a different model. Maybe it was replaced as the original Bendix TuFlo 501 configuration is not easy to find. All 501s are not configured the same. There are many optional choices. It was a combination of miscellaneous parts someone figured would get the job done. Flair coupling with copper tube connector. It will not look that way when put together again.
