Default 1995 Wanderlodge new owner in Seattle

This is my first post. I've been lurking awhile. Our family just purchased a 1995 42' S60. It's been sitting, so it needs a lot of work. I'm a bit overwhelmed. Any experts in the vicinity that can help me ensure I have all the basics covered? I've seen Baydo's recommended here as a good serivce center. I'll head down to Centralia eventually, if there's nothing better closer. The power steering gear box failed on the trip up from Tampa. Fortunately, no accident in Oregon. It's fixed but an alignment is needed. The roof leaks in the bathroom, so I'll be replacing the fan and skylight, and then on to the ceiling water staining issue. The dark green carpets will go , perhaps this fall. I'd love to have Ernie on the job for the hardwood installation. I'm parked in RV storage in Renton with a Wanderlodge nearby. Anybody know who's it is? Thanks to all who post. I've gained much so far, and hope to gain and share more in the future.

For an alignment I would take it to Henderson's in Oregon http://www.hendersonslineup.com/

That's is probably our 93' if you're at the East Valley RV & Boat Storage.

A couple of places to check for mechincal issues is Bryant Motors, Inc, in Renton, 425-255-3478 they were a BB motorhome dealer in the day but still sell schoolies.

The other place for minor mechincal and interior work is Infinity Coach in Sumner, 253-891-0879.

Body work with top notch results and great paint matching skill is Westcraft RV & Truck in Fife 253-926-3443.

We only live a couple miles from the storage lot so anytime you'd like to have a look at what we've done or if you have questions please feel free.

Good luck as there isn't anything like a Bird.

Gary,

Welcome to the flock! You've got a really nice bird there, but I'm kind of partial to that model!

To do the bathroom ceiling, it's not too bad. The padded panels use plastic push pins to hold them up. They're a vinyl wrapped over 1/8" padding over 3/16" plywood. Then there's a 5/16" plywood liner that's screwed to the roof bows. The skylight and fan surrounds have wood buttons covering the screws that hold them up. Just pop the buttons out, take out the screws and remove the surrounds. The vertical trim next to the doors will pull off, but it's held by very tough double sided tape, so you'll have to be careful with it.

Use Dicor self leveling sealant around the fan and skylight on the outside and repair your inside stuff and your'e good to go!

Welcome!!

Thank you for all the replies. Yes, I'm in East Valley. So, I'm in good company with Bruce. I live in Burien. I'll give Bryant and Infinity a call. The skylight in the bathroom was the culprit for the water leak. Saturday's rainfall sure exposed that problem. Removed some rotten plywood. Looks like a good sized project ahead. JC Whitney's had a 7 to 10 day wait on their skylight. I'll have to research a better solution.

This one will work, it is the right size I think.

search "surface mount skylight" for different sizes

Peter: I just saw your sky light post. It looks like a better solution. Where did you get your sky lights? Thanks.

Congrats new member and owner!

We saw that Bird and seriously considered it as well.

Glad to hear you made it home safely with only a minimum amt of trouble.

Agree with you on the dark green carpet. Once it's out, it will look much more uplifting with a lighter interior.

Best wishes and happy travels.
