Just ignore me guys.
My family's little drama has put me into a bit of a funk I guess.
If you actually annoy me or hurt my feelings, you will definitely know.

Managed to pull 285lbs in a deadlift at the gym this morning so all my family's drama was put to good use!

I submitted my letter of retirement to my chain of command yesterday. I stated I wished my last day to be June 29th.

Now depending on how well received my letter is , they may just ask me not to return...lol I was possibly a bit too honest and not exactly p/c with my letter, but it was done in a respectful manner without pointing any direct fingers at anyone, so we will see.

I am looking forward to writing that letter. My Captain says that he is not gonna let me make any EMS calls on my last shift . I plan on buying one of those "Taxi" signs with a light in it and put it on top of our ambulance

Well, I have 9 working days left! I am excited and nervous all at the same time. Since I am a planner by nature, this uncertainty is driving me nuts, but I am doing my best to just close my eyes, hold my breath and take a big jump into the deep end of the proverbial pool. We will either learn to swim or we will have to get out of the pool and go back to that dreaded thing called "W.O.R.K." Drowning is not an option.

If we can finally get all these little gremlins at bay with the 4Runner, then it's time to do a little PMing on our beloved bus, who has been patiently waiting for her turn in the sun. I am just happy she has been sitting (she's up on stacks of wood under the chassis) without any weight on her tires and they have been covered.

Thank you all for your support, guidance and encouragement.
You guys (and gals) are the best!

Sounds exciting! I got home from the Shippy rally Sunday night, but I have been going out there to make breakfast and coffee for two days. I would love to take a year or two off and just GO AWAY!

Oh trust me, we couldn't do this if it weren't for the hubby's pension. Even still it will be tight sailing, but we will figure out a way to make it work.

Dana ,

I have been following this thread for some time and actually sought you and your hubby out in Oct at wog . I found your honesty and openness to your life pretty awesome actually . Not something I could do but being vulnerable and open is something most men aren't capable of , me included . so here's my thinking on your some to come adventures.

1. Never give up a home base
2. Travel no more than 5 or 6 months a year
3. visit the entire country a coach may bring you
4. when you brake down enjoy where you are and allow the wog to come to your
rescue

I guess if I were to pick just one from the above I would say keep a base camp above all . We have been on the road 6 years or maybe even more but I will tell you having a spot after many months on the road sure feels good

thank you for sharing your world with us and know there are many of us pulling for you both

After this post I shared with Erika it is nice to not always dry camping , lol she smiled and said **** ya !! You know it is cool to do all the things one does when not connected to the grid , bit man the grid does make life a bit easier . I will add even on the grid we do not use a TV , but we do use our internet
