Thanks Shane. I have a lot of memories of the Birds Nest. So sad to see it now but at least you got into the property to take a tour. I thought the state had torn down the Birds Nest to allow more traffic.

I went to my archived pictures to pull a couple from 2007 & 2006. I have older ones somewhere...

It's been a long, long time since we visited this thread. During our "Return to the Valley" Rally in 2016, the mayor of Fort Valley arranged for several members of the club to visit the factory. It was a little sad for those of us who stayed there "back in the day", but for the newcomers it was a very memorable experience. I made a short video of the tour that we took through the factory, the old parts store and finally the "birds nest". Not much is going on with the new owner, but we were told that they hope to begin manufacturing city fleet buses at some point in the future.

Sad, never been there but looking at the building. To think my coach came out of there. Wonder if the last 09(?) chassis ever came out? Looked to have rear axels.

Sad to think that the facility couldn't have been repurposed. I guess if it could have been moved to China that might have worked. I am actually surprised that none of the foreign companies have entered the RV market. It wouldn't be too difficult for them to compete quality wise with what is being turned out now and they already have trucks that could be turned into a Super C.

The building was in bad shape, and then it sat for 10 years.
It leaked rain water in many places.

Tommy Bowling and I drove buy the Wanderlodge plant today, or what's left of it. Sad.
