Being all honest and stuff, that's the way Wanderlodge did it on mid 80's FC's using the Bendix unit. Cable connected to the pivot member under the throttle pedal.

I'm no mechanic and don't play one on tv, but I remember when I got rid of the Bendix, that area was made for the King Control.
They ran a cable to the engine and it has worked fine for quite a few years now.

On the PT everything is right there by the engine so it doesn't make sense to hook it up to the pedal, but apparently the FC it's easier to put it on the pedal.

Late FC's had air throttle, early FC's had a cable, some have air upgrades.

For the new FC owners there are numerous threads on the FC throttle cable, Bendix Air throttle, Bendix cruise control and the many issues trying to repair, and upgrade.
Here is just one of those threads, and the tight confined space to work within.

FWIW: I have a Rostra Universal Cruise Control in my 1946 Ford street rod. I am very pleased with it.

Something that you would need based on my experience is to determine how and where to get speed inputs. Cable speedo, electric pulses, drive shaft magnets etc.

The other signal required is an engine tachometer signal. I assume that could be taken from pulses to our gauges. Not sure how to adapt a cable driven tach to their cruise control. Others will know.

I believe the rest is brake switch hook up (both sides of the switch), 12 volt power and ground.
