Default Stuck on street w/no shift into drive on 755HT

Bird is stuck on the street with a transmission pad not shifting into drive. It is INTERMITTENT after rocking bus or shifting into reverse through neutral it will shift into drive. But not straight into drive. No codes or idiot lights (hummm should be in this case). Any suggestions, plug, shift pad???? We're getting bird ready for some winter travel.

John, I believe the recommended practice is to shift from REVERSE to NEUTRAL and then to DRIVE. I read that somewhere...pro'lly right here on the WOG forum. I used that practice when I had the '88 WB and also on the present '99 LXI and never had an issue. Same thing, when shifting from DRIVE to REVERSE, shift to NEUTRAL, then to REVERSE. Takes a little more time but at our advanced ages, what's the hurry?

John...when I had issues with mine..Jumping out of gear and no start... this nailed it. Have you looked for a code on the shift pad

For 1992, 1993, 1994, and early 1995 models if experiencing erratic or no display; especially when there is cold weather or have retrieved any trouble codes. Have you seen code 69-32 already? Stop troubleshooting = 100% defective ECU!

After I start the bus and am ready to roll I should be able to shift straight into drive. IT WON'T, but if I shift into reverse then into drive it will go. I can not shift into drive from the beginning. Am I confused on how I should be shifting? Thanks

“Stuck on street w/no shift into drive on 755HT”

I thought 95 series 60 coaches had HD 4060 transmissions?

You do not have to shift into reverse before shifting into drive.
