Default Samsung Home Style Refrigerator

I finally bought a meter to check current. I get readings of 1.18 amps maximum, less when freezer or refrigerator sleeping. This seems incredibly low. Does anyone have better information?

At this level, overnight boondocking is easy.

Ron, that sounds correct. Mine shows 0.9 amps @ 121 volts, measured with a fairly expensive Fluke meter.

I is about the same as my research, and the reason I went with the Samsung. They are very energy efficient. Overnight is easy on battery power, I turn the energy saver on (that turns a heat strip in the door area off) and I turn the ice maker off.

Peter, I wish I had seen your post; it would have saved buying the meter.

Amazing numbers.

very impressive results. With conversion to 12v and a 20% discount for inverter, still good.

I was working up a load chart for my panel, useful when in a park with 30 amps. I'll still list it as 3.9 amps for the defrost cycle, since there is no way to control when that happens. However, it can't last for long and provides a little margin the rest of the time.

In reading Peter's work and that thread you can find all you can possibly need to know. Nice work, Peter.
