Under The Awning Here is where you can carry on a conversation, just like............well, like you were sitting under your awning at the campsite.

Default KOA camp grounds

I can't make up my mind,after spending 2 nights at a KOA.
Is it a senior day care center or a child day care center,or is it a dog park?
Kids everywhere, riding bikes, old people sitting at the picnic tables drinking wine, and dogs everywhere.

But tonight is quiet and peaceful, camping at an airport high in the rockies.
Did you know you can camp at airports?

Randy, we’ve never dry camped.
Where do you go to dump tanks? About how many days can two adults go before black tank capacity on the bird is reached?

We've been dry camping bunch on this trip....one or two days then to keep her happy I find a campground. Plug in refill water and dump if needed. By conserving your water and dump tanks will last a while.
Last night was a city park...full hook up in Beatrice NE. The night before at a wayside which was the site of the first train robbery.....by the Jesse James gang

Bottom line, what are your tankage capacities and your usage rate - and IS there enough fresh water TO overflow the black tank?

Me, I have 65 gallons black, 85 gray and 100 fresh, and their "mileage" did vary over the 4 years I boondocked in the Kerrville Folk Festival camping meadow. In 2014/'15/'16 Peter and I went +25 days on the tankage. In 2013 with Tom, I had to top the fresh tank [yay 45 gallon folding bladder] at Day 16 and the gray tank was fully awash when I drove it out on Day 21.

Granted, but for KFF's campground showers we would overflow the gray tank MUCH earlier in ANY year.... And I finally came off the waitlist for a shored site. [Disclaimer: I love my Thetford. I have been given to understand that newer Birds have toilets that spend LOTS of water....]

WE always shower in the coach, and we shower daily.
We go 10 days fairly easily, then we need to dump and fill.
We dumped and filled at a rv park a few weeks ago for a 10 dollar fee, fair enough.
Some dumps are free, water is free some places.
Theres lot of free places to park, over in Idaho we parked at a city park and woke up to a nice farmers market, last night and tonight we are at an airport way up in the mountains.
Its quiet and peaceful.
$10 per night,no hookups.
The airport is fenced and gated,no bears in here so its safe to walk Molly before bed.

I was able to get 8 days with my wife and 3 dogs never refilling/dumping. On the last day we ran out of water on the last leg on the way home. The shutoff valve on the shower made a big difference. Never stayed at a KOA, but we tend to try to avoid people.
