Default Girard Awnings

We only have a one remote control for the door awning and the two larger awnings. I cannot find switches on the inside anywhere.

1. Are there hidden switches? In case the remote quits

Does your 450 manual not have that info? My one manual 2-way momentary switch (for one Girard) is above the front step, under the overhead cabinet. Start down the steps and look up. Yours may be different.

Van,

Switches are mentioned in the book but no location given. Went out and looked up and.......nothing there.

Tom the switch by the door is for small awning over the door. The remote does the other 4. There are manual methods of extending and retracting but a ladder and 7 mm hex head needed. Give me a call tomorrow.

On my M380 the control box for the Girard is in the overhead cabinet behind the TV; this also controls the sensitivity of the windmill safety closer.

Van,
It mentions switches but doesn't say where. Went out and no switches. I have been told we have only the remote.

On an 05 coach you should have a household electrical switch above the door on the inside under the electrical panel for leg 1 and leg 2 AC power. Remote power for the other 2 Girard awnings. This was standard until roof awnings were an upgrade.

in a pinch, you can use a blow dryer to retract. (True, I bet Randy figures out how first) But you need to know somebody with hair.

Ok, ok,,,,just to document. If you misplace the remote when it comes time to leave, use a aircompressor or hairdryer to spin the anemometer pinwheel on the roof (i fear too much social innuendo to manually blow the pinwheel to act, but it might work) . Newer awning types will auto retract it you push up the leading edge. Not sure if it is necessary but wont hurt to then disable the motor from auto extend.
