If I were looking for a totally updated coach with that special vintage look, one with a history like this rarely if ever comes along. Lucas showed it to the Q tech walk-around group a couple years ago and we were all suitably amazed. That custom toad lift hitch system was a wonder to behold and his expertise with mechanicals is impressive. When he sold it to our friends Ken & Tammy, I was surprised. Haven’t seen it since Tammy did her magic on the interior. But looking at the ad pics all I can say is wow! Know nothing about the current seller in this surprisingly quick chain of recent owners. But safe to assume each parties reasons for selling have nothing to do with the coach condition. As to price, that’s dependent upon what you’re looking for and whether you are able to appreciate what’s gone into this coach the past few years. It definitely has a pedigree few can match and that’s half the battle when considering any coach. I’d say go see it and let it “speak” to you, then make an offer if so inclined.

If I were in the market for an FC , this would no longer be for sale . I believe that Whomever buys this coach is going to be very happy .

Default 1980 FC w/250 turbo in AZ

The coach was sold and registered in 1980, but it was build in 1979 and is a springer. As I raise and block our WB 95 before getting under it I often remember how much easier and safer the "Good Ole Bird" was to work on.

One of the reasons to change from our 04 gasser was to get diesel power(pusher) and air ride comfort however my wife is in love with the styling of this coach and the mechanical upgrades are quite appealing to me. Is the spring ride that much worse then air ride? I drove school buses as I am a band director and they are horrible. The only comparison I have is to my grandparents pt40. I think I'm ok with the powerplant up front

The term "diesel pusher" has hurt the sales of the FC's for many years.
Think about the coach chassis that could handle a real diesel (not a small V8 or even the small Cummins).
There were really no chassis that could handle the weight of a bigger displacement diesel (in the front).

I love the FC wanderlodges, and the engine is not loud and its fairly easy to work on.
$20k will not buy a good used pickup these days.

There is a difference, an air ride is smoother and it handles the different weight distribution easily adjusting for full tanks, but a big bump still is a big bump with both suspensions, I have bottomed out my air ride chair on our fine California highways. I have never ridden in an air suspension FC but our present WB 42 does have a smoother ride than the springer FC.

I have driven both Springer and air ride FC'S. They are different but not necessarily better or worse, it depends on the buyer.
