Picacho Peak State Park’s campground has a total of 85 electric sites for both tent and RV camping. Sites are suitable for RVs and/or tents.
- No more than six adults & 12 people total per site.
- No more than four vehicles per site.
- Only one motorhome/RV per site.
- Four sites are handicapped-accessible.
- No water or sewer hookups are available.
- Access to all sites is paved.
- Sites are fairly level and are located in a natural Sonoran Desert setting.

$30 per night / per vehicle (October – May)

- Both back-ins and pull-throughs are available.
- No maximum size limit (except no tractor trailers allowed).
- All sites offer a picnic table and barbecue/fire ring.
- Many sites also offer ramadas, and some of the sites are handicapped-accessible.
- Use of the dump station is included in the price for camping.
- Potable water is available at the dump station.
- Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Generator use is not permitted.
- There are two modern, handicapped-accessible restroom and shower buildings available at no additional charge for campers.

Cheri and Kevin will be leading the Sunset Vista Trail hike on Saturday, which is just over 6 miles round trip – starts out easy, then gets more challenging as you climb to the top with wire cables to help you up. There are several other easier trails to follow – there is something for everyone.

If hiking is not your thing, there are a number of other attractions ranging from 10 minutes to one hour away, including;

- Rooster Cogburn’s Ostrich Ranch
- Old Tucson Studios
- the Biosphere
- Skydive Arizona
- the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum

Check out the parks’ website for more information.

I've been to the Desert Museum, but I always wanted to go to the biosphere! Cool stuff to do for sure.

Default Important Picacho “Attraction” - Wheel Polishing

#B5, leaving on Monday. Staying extra night so we can stop by the famous wheel polishing place. It’s 10 miles to the north of PP, but on the way:

M & M Auto Sales Eloy Az
o $5 Wheel Polishing
o Exit 203 (Toltec Rd) North side of highway behind McDonalds on W. Outer Drive
o Approximate location = 32.780744,-111.620705

Putz is right, get your site NOW before they fill up. Hey Mike, don’t forget your Scamp mini trailer reservation!

Default Entertainment - https://grandcanyonmeetup.com/

Picacho is one of the places noted in this script https://grandcanyonmeetup.com/ that for me has been a project comparable to Randy's rejuvenation of the '71 ("has arrived at the warehouse"). My only regret is is it's not yet an audio event, though the print version may well be an audio event by the time folks depart for Picacho. It would be done by now if I hadn't killed the past three months trying to find a Chinese guy for one of the roles. If you know a middle aged Asian American who can read English and speak it with an accent, please ask him to take a look at http://orientation.theater/ for audition details. - BTW, I'd be interested to hear how the meetup site comes across on cell phones.
