My guess on the V92s is the tach sending unit next to the engine air compressor needs cleaning and lubricating. It needs a few drops of oil once or twice a year. If it is not lubricated, it will gunk up causing an oscillation in the readout.

Regards,

Glenn

Very interesting - now all I need to do is find the compressor. Any pics? Actually, the compressor is on my list of things to find - it's so exciting being new! Everywhere you look, you learn something new.

I hope Glenn is right!
Access the engine from the back bedroom. The compressor is attached to the rear of the engine (towards the front of the coach, since engine is mounted backwards). The tach drive, may be right there at the rear of the engine, next to the compressor.

However, it is possible there is a tach driver in the DDEC controller. If that is the case, you have another issue. I think Randy suggested that the tach driver was computerized.

I've seen pictures of the tach drive on this site. It is a stub maybe 4" to 6" high sticking up out of the rear of the block with some wiring attached. Mine has a lube hole for oil. I have not lubed it.

From Shane some time ago. Located just aft of the air compressor on the curb side. I can reach in just forward of the exhaust, remove the cap, add a couple drops of oil, replace the cap...all has bee good for about one year...no more Tach. bouncing.

Found the electrical schematic (Diagram, Master Wiring, Chassis DDEC II WLWB Drw# 1578384 rev. G). The tach wire, 972 18 GA. TAN/BLACK, goes to ECM connector pin K3.
