John,

The rear slide has a service position to allow you to work on the seal.

1. Unlock the two awning locks with your pole.
2. Move the room "out" a few inches...this unlocks the room and deflates seal.
3. Now turn on the "service" switch on the control panel in the bay
4. Now move the room in and it should go further in to expose seal

It will stop by itself after it goes about 4 inches in past the normal stop

Thanks for the info. I was unaware of the service switch.

Default Rear Slide lock motor etc.

I am still traveling in the Bird. Before I left the new rear slide lock motor arrived from the manufactuer (rebuilt at a cost of $400 including shipping), but when my mechanic hooked it up it still would not shut off after locking and I was leaving for this trip, so he disconnected the locking motor and we figured that the slide would not jump the worm gear anyway and off I went. After two weeks of a lot of Rocky Mountain switch backs no problem with the slide in fact it now works even better since it does not have to wait for the unlocking. I was told that the only reason BB put the lock in the system was that it was required by law, but it was not needed.
I am tempted to not hook it up. My mechanic was doing more research and I will have more news after I talk with him next week when I return.
