I had a similar problem arise during one our first trips in our bird. The valve body developed a small leak and was leaking black water onto the floor of the waste bay. The water was pooling in the middle of the bus under the tanks. We realized the problem once the smell made its way into the coach and it smelled like it was coming up from underneath the fridge. a quick trip to The Home Depot the following day we picked up some two part epoxy putty found in the plumbing section. I kneaded a small amount and forced it into the crack and surrounding area. Once it dried, the leak was no longer leaking. This was supposed to be a temp fix but has held almost a year now. I currently have new valves on order from Stephen at dupree products and I'm just waiting on them to arrive. Hope this helps.

Plumbers lubricant I understand is non petroleum. I've used it for several years without any issues.
