Default Scary stuff?

I read this in my RV travel weekly news letter.

**************
A 86-year-old man died Wednesday of a heart attack after being robbed of cash at his motorhome at a KOA campground in Bainbridge, Georgia.
After the robbery, armed with a pi**ol, camper Gerald Woodard sought out the perpetrator, but collapsed and died. A reward is offered for info leading to an arrest

yep,not a mile from my warehouse.
Local news says that a black women robbed the old man,he went to get his ****** and died while chasing her.
She has not been caught yet,but she will be charged with manslaughter .
I suspect a better fence will be built around the KOA.
Funny thing, the KOA is full of hunters this time of year,it makes perfect sense to rob a bunch of hunters, right?

I often wonder about my father who is 83 camping on this own. He tells me the same thing every time. I have a gun so no need to worry. I think I will send him this. Thanks for posting this Gardner.

heres my take on being robbed.

Give them what they want and live to camp another day.

Of course,we don't ever consider a heart attack!

The Perp in this case never considered it either, now she will do time for murder, plus robbery.

The trouble is that she doesn't care. She already has no moral compass and that life in the slammer is just another day in her miserable life.

In college, I worked at Sturm Ruger as night security supervisor. We had a saying about fences, "they keep the honest people out".

The bottom line when traveling is to keep security in your mind at all times. It doesn't need to ruin your experience, but it may be paramount in preserving your positive experiences. The fact is, there are bad people all around us almost all the time.

I have a friend who covered South America who joked that he always booked an extra week of travel for getting kidnapped. I've narrowly escaped being mugged or killed several times, always in the US. New Orleans and Phoenix are on my "avoid at all costs" list.

Here is a website about personal security that made a lot of sense when I first read it several years ago. No guns or special self-defense training required. Just common-sense measures that will help keep you safe.

Put a crack in the nogen on the fist agreaser they retreated to the miny van that came pulling up to save them with side door open. As the made their excape the one with the crack scull was yelling ( YOU ARE A HATER ) I think? Whent back to the romm wife said ,Did you get me asprin? Then said who was crying like a sissy out there? Go figure. welcom to america

OK,NEWS flash!
They caught the girl who robbed the old man.
Shes 40 years old,and will be tried for murder.

This is a good topic, keeping yourselves safe.
But its easy to stray into the "no fly zone".
Any ****** other than wasp spray or Mace is tabu, lets stick to that!

We have stayed in all kinds of questionable spots,Rest Areas look good when your tired and its late, sometimes i wake up and think "man, did we stay here in the dark?"

When we do stop,we keep doors locked and we don't go outside if its questionable, even Wal_marts and campgrounds can be dangerous.

In the case of the Bainbridge robbery, this is a 5 year old very well maintained campground, its next door to the city park, boat ramps and boat basin, and the citys amphitheater.
The city patrols this area and its clean, but not so well lit at night.

I don't know if the old guy was living here or just here for the hunting and fishing.
