Default LXi, Custom Pittsburgh Power Muffler

Here's a couple of pics of the muffler that Pittsburgh Power made for me. The canister is 10 inches in diameter, the muffler is a standard 51.5" long. The inlet, outlet, and internal pipe is 6 inches in diameter. It's made of aluminized steel. It's supposed to have a nice mellow rumble while taking the edge off the jake brake. The back pressure of the stock Nelson muffler is approximately 30 inches of water at 3000 cfm (at exhaust pressures and temperatures). This muffler is supposed to provide 15 inches of water at the same flow rate; i.e., half the back pressure.

$280.00

Call Pittsburgh Power, ask for Pete and give him my name. The muffler has no part number but is filed under Brady.

It's an interesting muffler. I'll let you all know how it muffles. It's not easily apparent from my photo, but the muffler is straight thru (you can drop a tennis ball in one end and out the other). The spiral is meant to coincide with the vortices coming off the turbo. I'd really like to try a straight pipe, but don't want the attention that an unmuffled jake will bring, , and I can't argue with the back pressure characteristics of this muffler, nor the price!
