It was a Monday......

I, also will never forget, as the sheriff(my boss) called me to come to his office that morning and asked if my sister still lived in Manhattan. He then asked if I saw what was happening. Of course, I didn't know at that time, until he turned on the tv in his office. He was concerned, as I couldn't get through on the phone. It took several hours to get a call through to her.
Several deputies were sent to our airport to make sure that no planes took off until the Feds said it was all clear. What a day.

I will never forget this day. And as I sit here watching memorials I can't help but remember all who sacrificed, and all who aided. Especially...to me...my fellow controllers who safely cleared the nations airspace of over 4000 planes.

Thanks John, almost forgot about it due to the rain and wind storm, our bad just starting to say goodbye to Irma. Ps we are all good. Very lucky 12 plus inches of rain, over flowed gauge.

I will never forget that day. I was at work at the California ANG where I worked full time in aircraft maintenance.

When the second aircraft hit the tower we immediately implemented our F-16 aircraft generation plan. We initiated 12 hour shifts around the clock and activated our traditional Guardsman. We generated our aircraft in record time. We stood at the ready and flew missions over the state of California to protect our major cities and our coastline. It was intense and I still remember our anger that we channeled to get the work done.

Never forget and never forgive.
