Had a great time as usual, great gathering and good folks!
Lots to see and do at Flywheelers, the whole family enjoyed it.
Fun to watch the tractor pulls and the old equipment running at the dirt pit.

I will be trying some suggestions the brain trust came up with around the campfire about how to get my bus driving better, thanks guys! I will post more about that over on the wandering wanderlodge thread.

Had a bit of an issue shortly after we arrived, I tried to turn my generator starter into a generator, the button stuck on and did not realize it, the starter stayed engaged and was spinning at 1800 RPM's. Let out that recognizable burned electrical smell and burned up the starter good. Of course helpful neighbors came by to check on us and even offered their car to run into town to get a new starter. I went on the phone and found several auto parts stores and I settled on the local Napa being the best bet that they may have something.
So I borrowed the car and went into town to see what I could find.
I walked into the Napa and said "how's it going" to the counter guy, his response let me know I was in good hands, he looked at the bag in my hand and he said "depends on what you have in that bag"
He looked over the starter and I told him it was off a Kubota V1505, he tapped on his keyboard and told me he had good news and bad news, good news is he can get one for me, bad news it would be on the next truck tomorrow. I told him to go ahead and get it coming, no money needed, he said he would collect when the starter arrived. Next day, I borrowed the car again from Mathew (thanks again!!) and grabbed the bag with the starter in it, to match it up and make sure it was the right starter (figured it could be 50 50 chance it was not right), got there and the starter had come in as promised, he pulled it out and we checked it on the counter, starter was exactly what I needed, matched up perfectly. I paid up and headed back to Flywheelers. I took a good look at the wiring and the battery to make sure nothing was damaged, all looked good so I hooked up the new starter and the generator fired right up as usual and we were back in business.
So I had a portable Honda 2200 inverter generator with me to run to just keep the batteries topped up, so all was well.

We still had a great time and met some new folks that I had not met before from the forum, so that was a great plus!

See you all next year, hopefully we can make this bigger every year.

Carol and i had to leave early to meet a friend in PSL Fl.
we got here safe and sound and had a great time,tomorrow we head to Gainesville for a day and then home to the warehouse.
Lots to do there,as usual.
Flywheelers was a blast,thanks to you all for coming.

What A Great Rally, a Couple of First Time Rally Goers Feedback was they had A Great Time!
We certainly didn’t go Hungry or Dry, Even Fixed some Birds!

We had our Very own Cupcake Chef with Dave S providing a Very Colorful Array!

Time to head somewhere today and Prepare for the Next Get Together, Lovebirds?

We had a blast. It was truly a pleasure meeting everyone at our first rally. Thank you to all for the warm welcome into this amazing group.

Speaking of warm; there was a bit of excitement at the very end. We were waiting on the completion of the little guy's morning nap before departing, but decided to accelerate our departure when a fire kicked up in the next field. It got big enough to make some people nervous, but the flywheelers staff and volunteers got it under control by the time the local FD had arrived.

We didn't want to stick around in case the wind direction shifted about 80 degrees.

It just started as we were pulling out, with the wind I knew that this was one for the professionals. I thought about trying to bring some water over but it was spreading quickly. I saw a backhoe headed for the fire so I was hopeful they could make a fire break with that fairly quickly.

We were working on a job at the military base in Tampa (Macdill AFB) doing a big underground project and we had a rental backhoe to dig for our conduit bank. The Macdill fire dept came by one day and asked us if we could help them out, they had a fire start in a wooded section of the base and needed something to cut a fire break. My foreman took the backhoe over and started knocking down a fire break through the woods, small trees and all pushing them down and clearing an area. A backhoe can cut a hood fire break in a hurry. He was covered head to toe in ash when he came back, but he was grinning from ear to ear!

We had a great time at the Flywheelers - many new friends made! Also had the chance to do our first Cracker Barrel camping on the way home. A little tip: try to park in an area where you can't be blocked in by late arrivals. We made it by about 2' which was better than it first looked. Also spotted oil accumulating on the engine oil leak monitor (toad hood and windshield) - front crank seal showing it's age. Fortunately it never got too bad. Best part is our MINI is fully rust proofed now from the doors forward! Thanks to everyone for helping with our solar installation project - I kinda like the look of wiring running down the side of the bus. I may leave it that way.

Looking forward to our next big WOG adventure.
