My first bus was a schooly, when I was 17. Never repainted it, just lived in it. 1965 Thomas, V6 gasser, 4 spd, juice brakes. Right out of school service. $600.00 1975

I bought our first Bird,1984PT40 at age 34.
I'm 58 now.

Crits right, most of the old crowd is long gone, but the new crowd we have is a great group!

Well I am turning 48 on November, 16th.
Everyone that knows me says I am an old soul. I like older stuff, it is built better, it has more elegance to it.
I could have purchased any bus I wanted , but I always remembered these as the classiest on the road. There is a recognized awe associated with them. When you pull in a park even the high rollers want a peek, mysteriously take a walk that leads them right past us. An all steel mansion on wheels is a thrill most will not experience as they don't make them like this anymore.
I can't wait to pass it on to my kids. They already love it.

I have a saying, planes boots RV's and wife's is not for share, if you can't afford it you should not own it.

Hish, There's a lot of wisdom in that. I think the trade in value on all of that diminishes if the dealers know it's been shared as well. I like single owner stuff when I buy. (Of course I did make exceptions when I bought the BB)

The wife? I better not go there for fear for my life. I will say that she had low miles

I have met a number of the local (BC) Wanderlodge owners in the last while, and we all seem to be about the same age: Early to late forties. Even if I would have been willing to spend the money 10 years ago, I am pretty sure a coach would have just sat in the yard. I was too busy raising three kids and building my business to be running around the country in a motorhome. I think that is the same for a lot of people, and that is why middle age is when a lot of us make the big leap.
