Default WOG Rally

Well I will speak for Lori and myself. We both had a great time as usual and enjoyed introducing the Jamisons to everyone there that we knew as well as the WOG experience. The Week usually flies by as it did this year. It seemed that there were more Newbies this year than usual which is great as they will hopefully continue to attend and participate and keep our group alive. I will also mention that it was nice to have the potlucks back and it seemed that there was an abundance of food at every gathering. I feel like we met a few more people that we have not had the chance to talk to as well. The auction was great as well and I think everyone left happy with what they purchased. Overall Id say another successful WOG. There are also many people in the background at every rally that help with no expectation of acknowledgment and WOG has several people that fit that description, you just can't put on a big rally without the right help so thanks to everyone that worked and to our hosts Randy and Carol. Oh and the ole Wagon master KIP...

$50, twenty five for my wife and twenty five for me, is a DEAL. I figure it is a site fee since the park is already giving us a deal on our site cost.

Have white board for bus projects so it is easy to locate to watch or help with. Owner's would be responsible for listing the project or a friend who knows the owner could use a hand.

Allow everyone to get in line for food at the sometime so big eaters at the front of the line can see how many people need food behind them.

Moment of silence for those we have lost in the prior year.

Start camp fire a little earlier for those who go to bed earlier.

Getting the donuts is labor intensive and appears to be a schedule hassle for the Organizers. Maybe someone could stop at Costco/Sam's and pick up muffins for the week. No more scrambling for someone to do an early morning run.

We liked the $50 fee vs the 50/50 tickets , it levels the field and makes everyone equal as far as door prizes. Anyone is more than welcome to donate more for the rally and to WOG , and many did . I know it takes money to run the rally , but we are there to visit new and old friends and learn more about the coaches . If more money is needed , I believe most wouldn't have a problem with a $100 fee . The fee would still be the cheapest part of the trip .

The pot luck sides and desserts was a big hit alongside the provided main item .

I'm sure you could get more volunteers for the fee collection table . A pre arranged schedule for manning the table would free up volunteers to be able to enjoy the rally . Everyone is there to have a good time and visit . We would certainly help out with it .

Oh , this is for Bill Pape.... Donuts before sunrise is too early

Default First WOG at Pine Mountain

You asked for it, so here goes!

First, this was the first real vacation I had taken in about 2-2.5 years, so there's that, and I had a great time. It was really fulfilling. With the exception of not having my coach there, I don't think it could have gone any better.

That said, I'd like to see name tags and maybe a WOG handle so I know whom to thank, only made about 50% of my thank you-s for all the help I got to get me where I am now. Had I known who was whom from a reasonable distance, that would have helped. Some had them, most did not. I think it would be value added. Even if it was only done once every other year or some other cadence. A nice keepsake too.

The food was great, I tried to sit with different groups. Not a hint of push back, or who are you, or even a wrinkled face. Testament to the caliber of people we have here.

I could have done without the wristband. Just personal preference. Not sure how to work around that. Not being able to take it off for handwashing/showering/bed time...Maybe make it removable? Bucket this to the minor annoyance list.

I have likes and dislikes about most rallys, and anybody that knows me knows i have been to far too many rallys to count!

I will make comments along and along.

One thing i have always hated was the calling of tables, but we do it to control the traffic flow back to your seats.
Or should i say we attempt to control the traffic!
