Well, it's done. I just wanted to let everyone know I've completed the replacement of the hose with clamped on fittings. Total cost of the job was under $250. And total labor time was really high for me due to the heat (so dang hot) and me not knowing what I was doing. Had it not been so hot and I having some knowledge of this system, I think this job could have been completed in under 5 hours. Even less with 2 people. I certainly have a better understanding of the power steering/cooling system now, and a much higher respect for the engineers of these Blue Birds.

Anyhow, I took some video of the process and after I get the BB moved back to it's resting location tomorrow, I'll work on it and try to get it uploaded. It's probably really bad, but I"m sure it could help someone else. I could have used a video walk-through myself... heh

Thank you all again for your help. It was an intimidating job but in hindsight, it was actually a super-simple fix.

Oh no, I used the wrong term lol. Yes, I took the hose to a local Hydraulic shop and he suggested "crimped ends" as opposed to the reusable screw on fitting. So, I took about 45 ft of hose and had him crimp on fittings for each end. One with a 90 degree turn.

I guess a "clamped end" wouldn't hold too long, eh?
